We killed the spreadsheet bottleneck in location intelligence

Mapfry • 2026 • product design

Mapfry owns the best geomarketing dataset in the market. The problem was never the data, it was everything that happened before someone could use it. Every analysis started the same way: export, open a spreadsheet, rebuild what you just lost.

We designed Studio. An interface that lives inside the platform and does, in one place, what used to take three tools and a lot of patience. No exports. No formulas. Just decisions.

Problem

The data was there. The problem was the road to it.

Every time someone needed to find the right location, they left the platform and opened a spreadsheet. Context gone. Analysis restarted from zero. The best location dataset in the business was being filtered through the worst possible interface.

The brief was simple: the analytical power of a spreadsheet, without looking like one.

What We Built

Finding a location isn't a field you fill in. It's a decision built in layers.

So Studio doesn't work like a form, it works like an exploration. Users cross-reference foot traffic, income, competitor density. The system processes everything in real time. No exporting, no waiting, no guessing.

It looks like a spreadsheet. It replaces three tools at once. And it was adopted without a single training session.

Impact

60%

of analysts' time was spent assembling the analysis, not doing it. Studio turned that time into decisions.

90%

adoption with no evangelization effort. People used it because it made sense — not because someone asked them to.

100x

more locations evaluated by the same team, in the same time. It wasn't about working faster. It was about working clearer.

"Bossa didn't just redesign an interface, they helped us translate a complex methodology into something lightweight, intuitive, and evolutive. Studio started teaching as it was being used. That fundamentally changed the user's relationship with the product and explains the almost immediate adoption we saw."
